row your boat..

Well the bathroom doors at the Boogie Bar are all done and finished and what fun that was!! So now the plan is to start getting ready for my upcoming exhibition, which will be this summer in Sifnos. I don't have a theme or title yet but I keep envisioning fishies everywhere.. Lol
I have been working in my journal to help ease into the swing of things...so we'll see where that leads to.

Meanwhile...I'm keeping to my strict plan of painting during the day and animation at night...sooo I want to share my latest animation. I'm learning how to make blinking eyes and mouth movement. I need a lot of work in lip syncing...that's hard! but I'm determined to make it right. One of the fun things in animation is that when you design characters, you have to add a bone skeleton so they can move! so after I'm done drawing the little people I add bones to them!! hahaha

Boogie Bar

I've been commissioned to paint my characters on the bathroom doors, at Boogie Bar, a new place that opened a few weeks ago, here in Athens. Its my first commission for the New Year and I'm pretty psyched, since I've never done anything like this before :)

Blondie will be for the girls bathroom and Yellow for the boys. I was there yesterday painting and already they were getting a lot of attention from the customers, which made me extra happy!

back in the groove

No more excuses, the holidays are over..and it's time to focus, right? It always takes me a while to get back into the swing of the things, after Christmas.. Are you the same?! lol  I'd feel much better if I had some company in this! hahaha    This time a had the excuse of running around like a crazy person to fill out last minute orders, so I guess a much needed rest was in order.

But it's back in the groove now :)  and to get back in the flow of things, I took out my very neglected journal and finally finished the last four pages! whew! so now I need to start a brand new one, and I'm glad it will be with the new year :)
I need to make a confession at this point...cough, cough, I have been having a secret affair with... animation...during the holidays..(plz don't tell my journal)  But everything is under control. I promise.
I've made a strict schedule for myself. Paint during the day and animation at night. That way everybody is happy!! right?!
Just to let you know, I've missed you my friend!! Hope you are well and smiling :)

Just completed my second animation and I can tell you right now...that I'm hooked with all this cartoon business! Lol   There are so many things to learn and I am so eager to know everything there is about animation!!
I just need to find time between painting and getting ready for my upcoming exhibition next summer :)

I am in love...with..animation!! My head is sooo exploding with all these ideas and scenarios for my little people. I go to bed at night and I find myself in cartoon land! Forget about Christmas decorating and shopping! All I have accomplished so far with anything Christmas is my annual card. I know I'll be running around like a crazy person this weekend trying to decorate and shop!
I feel so alive again, I find myself smiling all the time, I'm pretty sure that people think that I'm in love. Except it's not a man..but a cartoon! hahahaha

My other news is that last weekend I participated in a small Christmas show that my cousin Penny invited me to. I really didn't expect that I would actually sell anything but I went anyway to spend time with her since I hardly see her. Well,... we barely spoke, we were too busy selling!! our table was the busiest there!  Penny makes the yummiest little soaps and I say yummy because they smell so good, you just want to eat them. I sold lots of pendants and my new prints :)) I'm so happy with the way these prints turned out.

BTW have I told you I'm in love? Lol
This is my next project in progress. '' Shy'' is making his debut in animation land :)  Can't wait to show you!
