3 D paintings

Just a quick post before heading out for the weekend :)   It has been a crazy week, trying to finish these 3D paintings to take them for a presentation this morning, at the Benaki museum, here in Athens.  I was to go this morning..and of course..the metro decides to go on strike..  I rescheduled my appt, but I was working like a mad person all week!  oh well.. life in Greece is quite unpredictable at times. Lol  I laugh, because it's what I love about living here. You have to take some things in stride, otherwise you go nuts!
Anyway, ever since I started making these paintings in the shadow boxes, they've been selling real fast, so I took some of my older paintings and redone them 3D.  I think there is a trend going on here... Hollywood is remaking old movies into 3D so I'm copying too. Lol  "Titanic", "Star Wars" etc.
I am having a hard time photographing them, so any suggestions are most welcome :)
"someone" really likes the blanket I'm working on!
Have a great weekend, my friend!!  Hope it's not too cold in your part of the world :)  we had a couple of flurries yesterday, just a reminder thats it's snuggle season :)
xoxo

  1. These are wonderful--I can see the dimension--not a surprise that you're doing well with them.
    Love that last photo :)

  2. I really like the 3-D paintings, the extra dimension make them even more enticing. I love all your work though. I love the bright colors in your blanket. Perfect for winter. We are supposed to get a couple of inches of snow this afternoon, but that isn't too bad for Michigan. Have a great weekend.

  3. Very cute and you are keeping up with the latest trends. 3D stuff is so hard to photograph because of the shadows.

  5. What a great idea - must give it a try sometime! My son and I are making a film this weekend - we've cast his toys in all the starring roles!

  6. This is a great idea! It makes your charming work even more endearing! Perhaps take the glass off the front when you photograph? That may help. Hope you're having a good weekend, I really enjoy your work.
