watermelon girl

Watermelon is the theme for the last week of ice cream inspirations and is most perfect considering this horrend heat wave, here in Greece! the temps went up to 106F. not the most pleasant weather to be painting... but here is my BB girl, immersed in a huge watermelon to cool off!
A big thanks to Kristin for hosting this wonderful challenge :) this has been most fun :))
My goal for the next few weeks, is to prepare my journal, so I can take it with me to the Greek islands...sigh... sitting by the beach and painting... ohhhh can't wait!!
Hope you are having a great summer, my friend!

parlez vous francais?...

Wild 'n reckless is the theme for this week and the fun continues! I was going through my collage folder and found these funny images of Daisy! and Paris...ohhh, it's my dream to visit one day..
It's blazing hot (102 degrees!!) here and all I can think about is vacation time, but that won't happen until next month, sigh... meanwhile I plan to prepare my summer journal to take along with me :)
Happy Monday!!

strawberry lemonade

Hello my friend! Hope you are doing great and enjoying the summer!! Sorry for the short posts lately, but I feel there are not enough hours in the day or night.. to catch up. I am constantly late with deadlines and feel like everything is taking me forever to finish!or maybe I'm just getting too slow.. do you feel like that sometimes? ughhh  I think this studio move was a bit too much for me to handle on my own.. I need a long vacation real soon!!
Strawberry lemonade is the inspiration for my glass ring :)  To see more of the ice cream flavors please follow the link.

follow the chocolate chip..

Finally back to normal!! This is my first artwork since..March? with all the packing and moving and being down and out... what a great feeling and accomplishment, to hold a paint brush again!
Thank you Kristin, because really I owe it to you, getting myself back in the groove :))
This is what I came up with for the second week of ice cream inspiration.  Hope it puts a smile on your face, as it did mine, while I was painting :)  My muse is back!!!  Hello Daisy!  thanks for being a trooper! you deserve  some ice cream too!!

ice cream inspirations

As I write this post :) the temp in Athens is 100 degrees! yikes!! I really wish I was at the beach...sighh,  but this studio move is like a never ending soap opera.. I counted 55 boxes! and hopefully this Sunday, the movers are taking over.  gosh, get this thing out of way, finally!
Anyway..the big news this week is summer of colour, is back this year and the theme is ice cream inspirations. When I saw the picture Kristin posted, it reminded me of  a silk shibori fabric, I had created a couple of years ago and wear it as a beach cover up.
I don't know if you all know this, I am originally a textile artist turned into mixed media by " accident" Lol. I was preparing to teach a class on fabric printing a few years ago and didn't want to waste silk fabric, so I did my testing on paper first and... I fell in love! so here I am.
I know that this atrwork wasn't prepared this week, but the colours were so sherbet looking that I had to share :)
ps. please forgive me for not responding to my comments right away, hopefully I will be back on track by next week :))

off to new beginings..

Boy, have I missed you my friend!! This studio move is taking much longer than I anticipated!! I must have packed over thirty boxes and thrown out who knows how much garbage..ughh I  AM SOOO EXHAUSTED!  the packing part is finally done, now it's moving time and hopefully I will be all done by the end of this week. I found so much stuff that I had forgotten I had, that was the fun part :) and made a good cleanup of old and expired dyes and paints.
What I'm really looking foward to now, is getting back to as normal as I can, starting with Kristin's " summer of colour"
Another great event I'm looking foward to is, Lynard Skynard are coming to Greece for a concert next Monday! I am sooo  thrilled!!
